What is an oxygen reduction system?

An oxygen reduction system is a fire prevention system that continuously maintains a controlled, low-oxygen atmosphere within a protected space. Instead of reacting after a fire has started, the system is designed to reduce the conditions required for ignition.

FirePASS® produces oxygen-reduced air from normal ambient air and continuously supplies it to the protected environment. Oxygen sensors monitor the atmosphere, while the control system maintains the engineered oxygen concentration.

This creates a continuously protected environment in which many common combustible materials are far less likely to ignite, making oxygen reduction a proactive alternative or complement to conventional fire suppression.
